The ecology of Red-backed shrike: the masked passerine which looks like a little raptor
Regular students. Basic knowledge of ecology, evolution, biodiversity and conservation biology is helpful.
Topics: Ecological description of the Shrike species. Breeding ecology of the Red-backed shrikes. Species habitat suitability and studies of the species habitat selection in Central Italy: the ecological plasticity of the species. Foraging ecology: a comparative study among Poland, France and Italy: from prey larders to hunting strategies. Conservation guidelines for the Red-backed shrike in a changing world.
Lectures, and semester assignment (exposition of 1 selected topic in a presentation).
