Cel przedmiotu

Getting to know and understand the genetic identification of individual using microsatellite DNA.

Wymagania wstępne

The basic knowledge of biochemistry and classical genetics.

Zakres tematyczny

Genetic markers - definition, classification. Genetic polymorphism. Build and role of microsatellites (msDNA). Practical use msDNA loci in genetic identification on the example of species from the family mustelids.

Metody kształcenia

LABORATORY: giving method, practical method - lab exercises with the use of selected: genetic methods (DNA isolation from faeces, electrophoresis, PCR), methods for documenting the results.

Warunki zaliczenia

LABORATORY: provided credit is class attendance and getting positive results of the test (in the form of open questions, a positive mark above 50% of scored points), and credit of all written reports from performed laboratory experiments. The final mark consists of the average sum of all of the passed partial marks.
