This course introduces the basic concepts of LaTeX. Participants taking this course will be able to create and design documents in LaTeX, a world format for publishing mathematical and technical papers, and presentations in Beamer.

Basic computer skills.
Zakres tematyczny
Basic components and methods of implementation. Installation of the MikTeX distribution and the TeXnicCenter utility program.
Creating the first document with LaTeX, organizing the content into sections using the following classes: letter, article, book, report, book. Creating indexes, tables of contents, bibliographies.
Document skeleton/typography, cover, title cards, additional cards, eg. dedication, MEPs, etc., main text, headline (live page), footer, footnotes.
Format the page, set margins, adjust the header and footer of the document, change the page orientation, split the document into multiple columns. Various ways of listing items.
Managing color in a document.
Create basic tables, add simple and dashed borders, merge rows and columns, and handle situations where the table exceeds the page size. Adding an image, examining various properties such as rotating, scaling, etc. Working with graphics, combining graphics with text.
Writing mathematical formulas, various ways of numbering formulas, the environment: definition, theorem. Automatic references to numbering.
Drawing graphs of functions and other applications of the tikz package
Cross-references (refer to sections, tables, pictures), add a bibliography (references), and create a back index.
Creating multimedia presentations in the beamer class
Typesetting of documents in "non-Latin" languages such as Arabic, Japanese etc.
Printing and exporting to PostScript, PDF, XML, HTML files.
