Basic knowledge of the information technology.
Zakres tematyczny
Management information systems in organizations and in e-business world. E-business: roles, challenges, classification, business solutions: ERP systems, CRM systems (Customer Relationship Management Systems), SCM (Supply Chain Management Systems); e-commerce, B2B systems.
Business strategy; strategic planning. Control structures: markets and hierarchies; networks, value-adding partnerships. Influence of IT and information systems on control structures.
Business Models. Definitions and classification of e-business models.
E-business relationships. Business processes, business process management. Value chain model. E.-markets: definitions and functions of e-markets.
Technological Infrastructure of the distributed management information systems. Information technology for collaborative work: EDI (Electronic data interchange) systems, workflow systems.
Foundations of the XML technology; characteristics, structure definition, presentation and transformation of the XML documents.
Security and control aspects of (distributed) management information systems.
Development principles for management information systems; business process modelling methods.
Improvement of the management information systems. Business processes reengineering.
Component-based software engineering for development of the management information systems.
Enterprise Applications Integration, business processes integration.
Metody kształcenia
Traditional lecture, project exercises. Students will develop an own project according to the instructions given at the beginning of the term; discussions to practice, reinforce and ingrain what the students have learned in the lectures.
