Cel przedmiotu

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with selected issues related to the problems of social differentiation in both theoretical and empirical terms, as well as to prepare students to recognize and analyze contemporary problems of social diversity.

1. The place of sociology in contemporary social sciences
2. Social inequalities, stratification ideas and concepts of social structure in contemporary sociological thought.
3. Social position, role and social status in contemporary sociological thought.
4. Problems of social and spatial mobility and various types of societies in contemporary sociological thought.
5. Issues related to the issues of social bonds in contemporary sociological thought.
6. Social interaction in contemporary sociological thought.
7. Problems of identity in contemporary sociological thought.
8. Contemporary concepts of social control.
9. Social institutions and the process of institutionalization in the modern world.
10. Social change, development and progress: challenges for the present day.

Metody kształcenia

Teaching methods are a conventional lecture. The content in the thematic scope of the exercises is carried out by means of working with a book and source documents.

Warunki zaliczenia

Completion of the exercises based on the grade from the paper (compliance with the subject, correct structure of the paper, language, reliability, independence of the paper, appropriate selection of the literature of the subject). Passing lectures - written exam
The final grade in the subject is the arithmetic mean of the exam grade and the exercise grade.
