Cel przedmiotu

The aim of the course is to present issues from the history of Poland in the inter-war period 1918-1939 in a political, economic, social, and cultural perspective. The course will be conducted in a problem-based approach, taking into account the complexity of historical processes and phenomena as well as their causes and effects. The main task of the teacher will be to develop the student’s ability to understand the complex situation of the Second Polish Republic and the importance of its tradition to the present-day Polish society.

3. The period of domination of the Sejm 1921-1926.
4. The May Coup 1926.
5. Economy of the Second Republic.
6. Society in interwar Poland.
7. Science and culture in the Second Republic.
8. Józef Piłsudski's personal rule 1926-1935.
9. The Second Republic in 1935-1939.
10. Poland's international position in the interwar period.

Warunki zaliczenia

Grade based on active participation in classes, preparation of a given topic (presentation, lecture), passing the final test obtaining a minimum of 60% of the total number of points.
