The aim of the course is mastering the language and communicative competence in the sphere relevant to the B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages to the degree enabling the use of the foreign language for the purpose of studying, particularly for effective work with various foreign source materials, media, scientific and specialist literature, studying abroad, and professional and scientific work with the use of foreign language.
A2 level of English knowledge.
1. Hospital procedures.
2. Diseases and their symptoms.
3. Monitoring of the patient - the types of research and interpretation of results, vital signs.
4. The circulation of blood in the body, blood analysis.
5. A process of treatment - types of drugs, the route of administration and side effects, postoperative patient.
6. Mental health - depression, schizophrenia and certain types of addictions.
7. Nutrition and problems related to nutrition.
Communicative method, reading and translating scientific texts, group work, role-plays, vocabulary work, discussion.

Seminar ends with credit evaluation, which is the average mark obtained by the student during class participation. The methods of verification of learning outcomes are two written tests per semester at the binding force of the following thresholds: 51-60% - satisfactory, 61-70% - satisfactory plus 71-80% - good, 81-90% - good plus 91-100% - very good, as well as short tests evaluated according to thresholds above and the assessment of the active participation of the student in the class.
