By the end of the course, the students should be able to develop creative possibilities in workshop graphics, and develop their individual style of expression in art. The workshops include gravure, printing, digital printing, lithography, offset lithography and spatial graphics. Using the experience gained on the course, students will be able to produce their own work.
Students are required to present a portfolio of their work prior to starting the course. This will facilitate the teaching. It is assumed that students selecting this course have knowledge of the history of art (including the history of graphics) and an awareness of problems of present art and culture.
The students will be introduced to technological and artistic possibilities applied in printing in graphics workshops concerning digital printing, printing, and lithography. The students will broaden their knowledge on the methods of printing and will be made aware of the possibilities of printing as an expression of art.
The students are expected to develop their knowledge on different techniques of printing and use them. Knowledge of a historical and cultural context of graphics is covered.
Classes are held in a graphics lab and the course includes a large practical component. Students will produce graphic works based on the topics offered by the tutors. Where appropriate, there may be the opportunity for students to select their own projects. After approval of the choice of project, techniques, methods and ways of printing are selected.
