Basic computer skills.
Lecture
Basics of Java language: data types, variables, assignment and initialization, operators, strings, control statements, arrays. Overview of concepts: expressions, instructions, functions, libraries in the context of Java and biotechnology. The concept of iteration. Implementation and parameterization of methods with biotechnological functionality. Defining classes and creating objects. Overloading constructors. Composition and inheritance. Possibilities of using classes, objects, inheritance in biotechnology. Examples of the use of the object-oriented approach in biotechnology.
Laboratory
Implementation of selected programs concerning the use of Java language and the object-oriented approach in biotechnology.
Lecture with multimedia presentations. Laboratory - independent work at the computer. Processed material according to the instructions provided by the teacher. Discussions leading to deepen knowledge and understanding of learning material.
