Introduction to structure and function of basic animal physiological systems. Display of mechanisms and relationships between animal's organs. Organism homeostatic mechanisms. Basic principles of good laboratory practice and health and safety protocols in physiology laboratory; use of basic laboratory equipment: centrifuge, spectrophotometer, automatic dispenser. Teaching the responsibility for experiment outcome.
Knowledge of basic biochemical pathways in animals, and animal systematics. Use of light microscope on every magnification.
Physiology of nervous, circulatory, digestive and excretory system. Homeostasis as an effect of physiological systems cooperation. Comparative vertebrate haematology.
Laboratories in which student personally conducts: blood analysis, digestive processes in vivo, urine analysis (quantitive and qualitative). Analysis of physiological experiments on the basis of didactic materials.
