The aim of the seminar is to gain the ability to solve problems and to acquire, verify and process information from the literature and other sources (Internet, data banks, patent information) regarding the subject of the diploma thesis. Overview of the main components of the engineering diploma thesis. Presentation of the principles of writing diploma theses. Substantive assessment of the drawings, markings, formulas, tables and symbols used in the work. Plagiarism - explanation of the evaluation criteria in terms of compliance with copyright. Reporting by seminar participants on the current state of advancement of engineering work and discussions. Preparation of the final editing of the thesis and the rules for developing multimedia presentations for the defense of the diploma thesis. The aim of the course is the final preparation of the student to work in the profession.
Problem seminar
As part of the course, students will participate in seminars whose task is to acquire the ability to solve selected technical and economic problems, consistent with the subject of the diploma thesis.
1. The structure of the thesis.
2. Research problem, research methods, conducting scientific research.
3. Planning the implementation of the master's thesis.
4. Literature analysis.
5. Analyse of the area of the master thesis.
6. Master's thesis topic.
Development of an engineering thesis according to the diploma thesis card. Discussion of the components of diploma theses (theoretical issues, review of scientific and technical literature, and issues related to own work). Presentation of the research methodology, research results, development of the product structure, product production technology, production automation issues, machine operation technology, etc.). Discussion of the basic elements of a multimedia presentation for thesis defense and the final exam.
