The aim of education is to provide basic information on the specificity of surgical specialties. Getting to know the surgical examination of the patient, diagnostics of surgical diseases, recognizing the symptoms of "acute abdomen", as well as recognizing congenital and acquired malformations, recognizing surgical infections. The student learns the algorithms for dealing with emergencies, including diagnostics and preparation for surgery. Familiarizing the student with the latest scientific achievements in general surgery. Acquisition by the student of basic skills necessary in conducting clinical trials and integrating clinical knowledge and skills with scientific evidence.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pathomorphology.
1. Symptomatology and principles of qualifying patients for surgical treatment in neoplastic diseases. 2. Cancers of the digestive system - methods of surgical treatment and adjuvant treatment. 3. Thyroid tumors and hormonally active tumors - methods of surgical treatment and adjuvant treatment. 4. Breast cancer and other breast cancers - methods of surgical treatment and adjuvant treatment. 5. Lung cancer and other lung cancers - methods of surgical treatment and adjuvant treatment. 6. Skin cancer - methods of surgical treatment and adjuvant treatment. 7. Pediatric cancers and surgical techniques related to them 9. Outpatient and diagnostic procedures in a patient with suspected cancer 10. Acute conditions in oncology.
Classes in groups of 5 are held in the form of exercises in surgical wards and surgical clinics, taking into account the treatment of the patient in the admission room. Lectures in the form of multimedia presentations.

Preparation for exercises is verified orally or in writing by the teacher. Completion of completed exercises based on attendance and active participation, as well as oral assessment of practical skills by the teacher, 1 excused absence allowed, making up for missed classes with another student group. Attendance at the classes is a condition for being admitted to the course. The absence must be made up with another student group. Preparation for exercises verified in oral or written form. Final exam in test form - 50 single-choice questions. Passing the test - 94-100% = 5.0; 85-93% = 4.5; 76-84% = 4.0; 68-75% = 3.5; 60-67% = 3.0; 0-59% = 2.0. The exam grade is the final grade. Passing requires obtaining a minimum of 60% of the correct answers of the final test.
