The aim of the course history of economic thought is to show the development of economic thought from antiquity to the present day.

Thematic scope of the lecture:
1. The birth of economics. The idea of the natural order. Theoretical system: A. Smith, D. Ricardo, J. S. Mill, T Malthus; Marxian economics. Marx's theory of the relations of production and property; 2. The revival of classical economics. subjective-marginal trend; Institutionalism and neo-institutionalism. T. Veblen and his successors; 3. The economic system of J. M. Keynes. Demand theory of national income. 4. Monetarism. The New Keynesian School. The Chicago School: A Theory of Property Rights. Public choice theory. 5. Ordo liberalism. Social market economy. Polish economic thought of the Second Polish Republic and contemporary. 6. Social Teaching of the Church. The idea of work, capital and market economy in Encyclicals.
Thematic scope of the exercises: Discussion of the rules of passing the course. Assignment of work topics. Presentation of the prepared material on a given topic along with a group discussion.
Lecture: a conventional lecture with elements of a seminar lecture.
Exercises: presentation of topics and discussion.

Lecture: Descriptive exam
Exercises:
Evaluation of the student's preparation for the presentation of the given topic 5 points. For each class attendance, the student receives 2 points, for tasks carried out in groups, the student receives from 0 to 5 points.
The maximum number of points for exercises is 35 points
• grade "very good" - number of points % from 81 -100,
• "good plus" grade - number of points% from 76-80,
• grade "good" - number of points% from 68-75,
• "sufficient plus" grade - 59-67 % points,
• grade "sufficient" - number of points% from 51-58,
• "unsatisfactory" grade - the number of % points is less than 51.
The final grade is the arithmetic mean of the grades from the lecture and tutorials
