Aim of the course

The aim of the proseminar is to familiarize the student with the methodology of the master's thesis, to shape students' awareness of the responsibility related to the legal principles of using available studies, literature and other sources of information, to recall and develop the knowledge acquired during studies during the discussion on the problems presented at the seminar. In addition, the aim of the proseminar is to indicate research areas, decide on the topic of the master's thesis and its nature, as well as to develop the ability to independently search for materials and methods to solve the problem.

Prerequisites

The student has knowledge in accordance with the study program in the field of Economics. He knows how to prepare multimedia presentations. Shows readiness to develop his knowledge and skills. He is open to working in a team. Able to collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.

Scope

Introduction to the issues of writing a master's thesis. Specifics of preparing a master's thesis in the field of Economics. Posing a research problem. The scope of requirements for diploma theses. Discussion of the scope of issues that may be the subject of diploma theses. Research methodology. Discussion of substantive and formal requirements such as the structure of the work, terminology, language requirements, footnotes, bibliography, Internet sources. Sources of knowledge and statistical data. Using electronic databases. Individual consultations on the content of diploma theses. The most common mistakes when writing a master's thesis.
