Making students aware of the role of innovation policy in socio-economic development and in the process of systemic transformation of the economy, especially in the processes of restructuring of the industry, as well as the fact that innovation policy should be treated as the foundation of the state's economic system.
Knowledge: students know the basic concepts of microeconomics
Skills: students are able to assess the situation of the organization in specific market conditions
Competencies (attitudes): students are able to work in a group, have instilled habits of lifelong learning
Lectures:
Scope and objectives of innovation activities. The concept and types of innovation. Instruments of innovation policy. Polish and EU policies to support innovation. Formulation
Strategies for supporting the innovativeness of Polish enterprises. Financial perspective 2020-2027 and the development of innovation. Various levels of aggregation for innovation policy (mega, macro, mezo, regio, micro). Transnational research and development policy in the EU - Framework Programs. Regional dimension of innovation formation in the EU. Standards methodological standards of innovation research in different countries (Frascati, Oslo, European Innovation Scoreboard).
Exercises:
Determinants of development of innovative activity in Polish conditions. Analysis of selected innovation policies (regional or national).
Lecture: multimedia presentation with conversational elements
Project: case study, multimedia presentation, project method, group work

Exercises - a paper of up to 700 words and participation in a research project carried out by the staff of the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Lecture - exam in the form of written.
The condition for taking the exam is a positive grade on the project. The grade for the course consists of the grade from the project (50%) and from the exam (50%). The prerequisite for passing the course is positive grades from the exercises and the exam.
An alternative way to pass the project is to participate in a scientific study that includes the characteristics of innovative activity of Polish enterprises in the context of
creation of recommendations for building innovation policy.
