The aim of the course is to familiarize the student with the subject of city logistics.

Lecture: Fundamentals of the concept of city logistics. The communication system of the city. Urban transport infrastructure. Urban transport management systems. Systems of delivering goods in cities. The subject of practical logistics solutions in the agglomeration. Tasks of city logistics, as well as opportunities, threats and problems. Logistics and city logistics - common areas and dependencies. Genesis of city logistics. Integration/coordination of movements within urban travel. The city's logistics system. Principles of participation of public and private transport divided into communication zones. Communication zones. Transport congestion - problems and ways of leveling. Urban travel as a chain of displacements. Multimodal city travel. Solutions improving the environmental friendliness of transport in the city. Measures of determining the location of objects in the city.
Classes: Smart city - case studies of Polish and foreign cities. Smart city solutions. Comparative analysis of the degree of implementation of urban logistics in individual agglomerations. Aspects of dysfunctional urban space .
Lecture with the use of multimedia presentation, exercises, group work, project method.

Lecture credit - covers the issues of city logistics, written form (test or descriptive).
As part of the exercises, students prepare projects concerning the specifics of management and organization of city logistics on the example of a selected city. In addition, by means of comparative analysis, they independently compare and recognize the essence and ways of implementing the assumptions of urban logistics on selected entities. Knowledge is checked on the basis of a test in a descriptive form. The assessment depends on:
The condition of passing the classes: handing in the final work (project), passing the colloquium, possible comparative analysis and active participation in classes.
The final grade of the subject is the arithmetic average of positive grades from individual forms of exercises (ie lectures, exercises, laboratory, projects) conducted within the course. The sum of the points obtained determines the assessment according to the following scale: very good (90%-100% of points available), good plus (80%-89%), good (70%-79%), sufficient plus (60%-69% ), sufficient (51%-59%).
