Cel przedmiotu

The aim of the seminar is, firstly, to broaden the knowledge of the selected area and to specify the scientific interests of students (drawing the boundaries of the research area) in relation to their future master's thesis. This will be done by presenting the subject of their scientific research by students, followed by a critical discussion on it. The second goal is to develop the concept of a given work - theme and structure. The student should be able to present the topic of his work and outline its structure, while presenting the methodology he has adopted. The discussion accompanying this stage should concern the subject of the work, as well as the proposed method of solving a given research problem. The third goal of the seminar is to write a master's thesis.

Wymagania wstępne

The student has knowledge in accordance with the study program in the field of Economics. He knows how to prepare multimedia presentations. Shows readiness to develop his knowledge and skills. He is open to working in a team.

Zakres tematyczny

Familiarization with the topic of the seminar. The structure of the master's thesis. Determining the cognitive interests of the seminar participants and separating the topics of master's theses. Theoretical and practical importance of the topic of the work. Discussion of the requirements for master's theses. Purpose and principles of its preparation. Approaches and methods of conducting research and preparing the text of the work. The main parts of the work and the relationships between them. The most common mistakes when writing a master's thesis. Discussion of problems related to writing a job. Preparation of a work plan and concept. Presentation by students and discussion in the seminar group of the work plan and concept.

Metody kształcenia

Discussion, multimedia presentation, work with source material, project method, individual work with a student.

Warunki zaliczenia

Formative assessment - based on participation in the discussion during the presentation of prepared texts by other members of the seminar group. Final assessment - based on formative assessments and two presentations of the master's thesis: 1) literature analysis of the problem and analysis of external and internal conditions of the functioning of the entity in which the research is conducted, 2) analysis of the existing state in the entity within the scope specified by the subject of the master's thesis and the concept / project problem's solution
