Aim of the course

The purpose of the course is for the student to acquire knowledge and skills in knowing the basics of computer design and operation, utility programs, services available on the Internet, operation of word processors, spreadsheets and creation of presentations.

Prerequisites

Computer basics in the high school range.

Scope

  1.     Basics of computer design and operation.
  2.     Operating systems.
  3.     Utility and utility software, examples of licenses.
  4.     Services available on the Internet.
  5.     Text editors.
  6.     Spreadsheets.
  7.     Creation of presentations.

Teaching methods

Laboratory exercises implemented in the form of independent work at the computer.

Each topic implemented according to the scheme:

  •     introduction to the topic by the instructor illustrated by examples,
  •     subsequent tasks students perform independently in class,
  •     the student receives a task to perform outside of class with a deadline.

Assignment conditions

The grade for the laboratory is given on the basis of the points obtained for class activity, assignments, reports and a colloquium.
