Professional Internship - opis przedmiotu

Cel przedmiotu

The basic goal of the internship is to enable the use of theoretical knowledge acquired during classes included in the study plan and to confront it with the real requirements set by employers.

Zakres tematyczny

During the internship, the student:

1. becomes acquainted with the activities of the workplace and the conditions and nature of the activities conducted (production, design, marketing, trade, etc.),
2. becomes familiar with the company's work regulations, occupational health and safety regulations, fire safety regulations and the protection of state and official secrets,
3. learns the structure and mechanisms of operation of the workplace,
4. has the opportunity to compare his skills with the employer's requirements,
5. deepens and expands theoretical knowledge obtained during classes with practical skills,
6. through practice develops teamwork skills and a sense of responsibility for the work performed and decisions made,
7. prepares through practice for future professional work.

The internship lasts three weeks and is carried out before the end of the fifth semester; should take place during the summer break. The student, in consultation with the internship coordinator, has the right to choose the workplace where the internship will be carried out and the date of its completion. Detailed rules for professional internships specified by the Faculty Education Council and the internship schedule are available on the faculty website.

Warunki zaliczenia

To pass the internship, it is necessary to submit on time (within one month from the end of the internship) to the internship coordinator:

• positive opinion issued by the workplace,
• Practice Journal confirmed by the workplace,
• internship evaluation surveys (part A for the student, part B for the workplace).

The assessment of professional practice consists of:

1. opinion and grade issued by the workplace (50%),
2. correctly completed (each week of internship described on a separate weekly card) and certified by the workplace the internship log, in which the student includes a detailed report on the internship, documenting all important activities and work performed (30%);
3. timeliness of submitting relevant documents related to the implementation of the internship and the method of presenting them (20%).

NOTE: The opinion and internship log must be completed electronically. Obtaining a grade of 5.0 is only possible in the case of an electronically completed internship log!
