To familiarise students with land use planning and development as a starting point for investment activities in environmental engineering, including those related to renewable energy. To develop the ability to use planning documentation as a tool for the decision-maker in investment planning and implementation.
Lecture: Basic concepts of spatial management (space, environment, spatial structure, spatial natural and planning units). Sources of spatial planning. Spatial order. Sustainable development. Factors of spatial planning. Division of competences in spatial planning. Spatial planning at the municipal level - local spatial development plan; study of the conditions and directions of spatial development of the municipality; decision on the conditions of development and land use; location of public purpose investments. Spatial planning and the problem of locating environmental engineering and energy investments. Planning the location of technical infrastructure systems and related service facilities. Spatial planning and environmental tasks, public participation in spatial planning processes.
Project: Preparation, on the basis of information contained in the selected Local Spatial Development Plan and other local documents, of an analysis of the course of transmission networks, possible spatial problems in standard operation and emergency situations, possibilities of locating renewable energy investments. Indication of locations for the temporary placement of equipment and storage of materials during investment and modernisation works.

In order to obtain credit for the course, all forms of conducted classes must be passed with a positive mark.
The lecture part of the course is scored on the basis of: a written colloquium consisting of a test (multiple choice test) and an open part focused on the description of planning conditions for environmental engineering activities. The entire colloquium is scored on a 50-point scale, of which 30 points. points can be obtained for the test part and 20 points for the open part. The final grade is the result of comparing the number of points obtained by the student with the table: 5.0 - 45-50 points / 4.5 - 40-44 points / 4.0 - 35-39 points / 3.5 - 34-30 points / 3.0 - 25-29 points.
The exercise part of the course is completed on the basis of: a presentation in class - with a mark, preparation of a project analysis in accordance with the scope of the course - with a mark; the following factors are taken into account: completeness of the study, compliance with current legal regulations, correctness of the content of the study; checking attendance at classes.
The final mark is a weighted average obtained by adding 0.5 mark from the lecture and 0.5 mark from the project. The weighted average is rounded to two decimal places. The final grade is determined on the basis of the weighted average according to the following rule: below 3.24 - sufficient, from 3.25 to 3.74 - sufficient plus, from 3.75 to 4.24 - good, from 4.25 to 4.74 - good plus, from 4.75 - very good.
