Cel przedmiotu

In terms of knowledge: Mastery of knowledge in the theory, principles of design, design workshop, interdisciplinary aspects of architectural design, and the potential applications of BIM technology in architectural and urban design.

In terms of skills: Developing skills in using both Polish and foreign literature, selecting, evaluating, and studying examples. Proficiency in utilizing design workshops, including digital tools for architectural design. The ability to assess technical and non-technical issues related to the impact of design decisions on the material, immaterial, and human environment. Practical skills in applying BIM technology.

In terms of personal and social competencies: Cultivating imagination, intuition, a creative attitude, and independent thinking in the pursuit of original architectural solutions. Presenting one's own ideas and design concepts, expressing opinions on interdisciplinary aspects of architectural design, and emphasizing the need for collaboration with specialists at all stages of the design process.

Wymagania wstępne

No prerequisites.

Zakres tematyczny

In the theoretical part, the lecturer explains the method of project implementation, the scope of legal standardization and parameterization of residential building elements, shows examples of completed single-family houses, presents the typology and issues of designing single-family housing architecture, including the idea of an energy-saving and passive house, students discuss what should be the features of a house in open and urban landscape in relation to the existing natural and cultural resources. Design methods are discussed; application of technical solutions on an architectural and urban scale; ways of presenting and developing an architectural design as well as theoretical justification of the concept and methods of preparing a technical description of the project. Variants of urban composition, placing an architectural object in context (individual work, consultations) Landscape studies, perspective sketches, sections and land development, spatial model of the selected variant (individual work, consultations). The formal conditions related to the construction of a single-family house are presented. The concepts of meaning, symbol and sign, the meaning of the concept of home as an element of creation, examples: sacrum and home, meaning through form, symbol and sign, durability and changeability of meaning.

The scope of work of the design part: design analyzes and recognition of location conditions - analysis of the existing plot (size, terrain, existing greenery), - analysis of the urban context (scale, nature of the neighborhood, openings and visual connections, existing possibilities of connections with the road and pedestrian communication system ), - collecting starting materials for designing, Development of preliminary design concepts - study of location, body, material, land development, - review and discussion (selection of a variant for further development). Work on the selected variant - defining the detailed program and functional structure of the facility, - functional organization item ground floor in relation to the surroundings, landscaping, landscaping and greenery, - solid design, style, material and color development of the facade, - review and discussion (approval of the design for further development) Development of an architectural detail - development of a selected fragment of the facade (color studies, texture, material), - development of a selected fragment of the environment or interior.
