The goal in terms of knowledge is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the subject area, including concepts and constructive methods necessary for solving geometric problems and drawing perspectives of complex structures and architectural elements.
The goal in terms of skills is to develop spatial imagination, acquire the ability to use engineering and hand drawing based on the theory of axonometric projections and descriptive perspective, as well as the ability to precisely and unambiguously create and read flat and spatial drawings (which is helpful in developing three-dimensional spatial concepts and working in a digital environment).
The goal in terms of personal and social competences is to prepare the student to present and defend their own design solution as part of a team.
No prerequisities.
Stimulating and developing artistic, spatial and compositional imagination drawing on the knowledge of the construction of the form. Integration of design processes, including the explanation of the phenomena of perception and definition of beauty, the importance of interdisciplinary activities, including: painting, sculpture and music in the design process. Developing the ability to use drawing as a means of artistic expression based on the knowledge of the construction of form, space, composition and perspective. Developing the ability to use different types of drawing depending on the situation, e.g. a linear conceptual sketch, or chiaroscuro study from nature - highlighting elements of detail, or forms created from the imagination. Developing the ability to use fast, synthetic drawings with a significant and meaningful substantive message. Preparation for presenting one's own interpretation of the composition set in the studio and architecture drawn outdoors.
Presentation of sample solutions: Solving tasks independently or in collaboration with the instructor, independent search for problem-solving methods, creating one's own flat and spatial forms based on general guidelines, and discussing the results.
