Knowledge in the field of architectural design.

Zakres tematyczny

In the design part students solve partial projects in the technique of freehand drawing and digital model, based on ideological, universal and humanistic conceptual thinking (e.g. abstract spatial composition, composition in a given context, preferably with semantic features, using selected - or indicated - compositional features, e.g. scale, symmetry, rhythm, proportions, accent, contrast) and then move on to arranging small multifunctional spaces in an open landscape and public urban spaces with a dominant function of pedestrian traffic. These can be elements of tourist trails, scenic spots and places to rest, city squares and markets, playgrounds, parklets, boulevards, city beaches, internal courtyards of office and commercial buildings, entrance areas, atria, etc.

Students solve conceptual partial projects in the freehand or collage technique, and develop the final project of a selected design task in the freehand technique and a digital or mixed model (collage). Implementation of the concept in the form of ideographs, diagrams and mock-ups along with a theoretical description of the design problem (ideological part of the work).

An element of the program is the introduction to water and greenery projects. The program of the course includes short expert lectures tailored to the degree of difficulty of the tasks of the year on the subject of greenery design, water installation solutions such as fountains, drinking fountains and outdoor lighting, according to the needs.

Students develop their projects in groups. The basis of the classes are individual and group corrections. Students present solutions and indirect materials collected in the course of work. Corrections give the opportunity to show errors, directions of searching for better solutions on various levels: formal, functional, technical.

Metody kształcenia

Presentation Techniques: Introductory lectures in project classes – conventional, problem-based, conversational, informational communication.

Exploratory methods: Project classes and laboratory classes - interdisciplinary education, fostering a creative mindset, searching for project ideas and new forms, discussions, individual and group work according to a detailed schedule of activities.
