Aim of the course

The aim of the course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge about the law and specific branches of law. The key goal is for the student to acquire the ability to distinguish and systematize the provisions and legal norms of civil, commercial, labor, administrative and criminal law. The aim is also to familiarize the student with the process of creating law, its enforcement, and sanctions for non-compliance with the law. Then, getting acquainted with the hierarchy of legal sources and the operation of common courts and tribunals, as well as the protection of human and civil rights at national and international level

Scope

1.The formation of law, types of legal provisions, principles of law-making.

2 Sources of law in Poland.

3.Principles of law making, hierarchy of sources of law and legal norms.

4.Interpretation of the law.

5.Constitutional principles of the political and socio-economic system.

6.Freedoms, rights and obligations of man and citizen.

7.Courts and Tribunals.

8.Basic concepts of civil law such as natural persons, legal persons, right to be a subject to the law, capacity to perform legal acts, legal act - declaration of will.

9.Concluding contracts.

10.Disadvantages of a declaration of will.

11.Principles of labor law, such as establishing and terminating an employment relationship, rights and obligations of the employee and the employer; in the field of administrative law - administrative relationship, parties to administrative proceedings; in the field of criminal law - the concept and types of crimes and criminal sanctions.
