The main goal of the course is to familiarize students with the basic requirements necessary for the proper development of diploma (scientific) texts, both in terms of content and formality. During classes, students should develop skills that allow them to correctly compose a scientific statement (structure and its components), equipped with 1) appropriate expositions (e.g. theses, conclusions, knowledge about the so-called state of research), 2) exemplifications (e.g. a . presenting necessary excerpts illustrating the phenomenon under study, b. recalling the observations of "authorities", which can additionally convince us of the validity of the full proof or its part), 3) source documentation (methods of organizing footnotes, bibliography). During the laboratories, students - as planned - will have the opportunity to gain and then improve competencies in technical text preparation using computer tools.
None
During the classes, issues related to the compositional structure of typical studies (dissertations, monographs, as well as dissimilar studies) will be discussed: a) introductory parts (theses, hypotheses, methodology, state of research, necessary definitions, etc.), b) development (proof, exemplification, elements polemics), c) conclusion (conclusions, possible postulates). The instructor will also pay attention to the adequacy of the title to the topics covered in the content of the study and the linguistic correctness of the statement. During subsequent meetings, students will also be introduced to other aspects of the scientific statement that determine its completeness (abstract, keywords, indexes, lists, etc.). The method of creating and functions of references to literature and bibliographies will also be discussed. A lot of time is planned to be devoted to developing a scientific text (on the example of selected guidelines formulated by the editors of existing magazines or academic publications).
Lecture, conversational lecture, analysis of source texts and sample scientific works, discussion, implementation of tasks using a text editor.
