To familiarize the student with the subsequent stages of statistical research. Development and graphic presentation of statistical material and its description using appropriate measures.
Basics of probability and economics.
1. Data structures - an introduction to chosen statistical package.
2. Classification of statistical data, their grouping and depiction in tabular format.
3. Graphical presentation of the statistical data.
4. Some measures of central tendency. Empirical cumulative distribution function. Box-and-whisker plot.
5. Selected measures of dispersion.
6. Measures of skewness. Sample kurtosis.
7. The Lorenz curve. The Gini coefficient.
8. Correlation between two variables. Scatter diagram. The Pearson correlation coefficient. Linear regression.
9. Rank correlation analysis.
10. Dependence of the nominal variables. Contingency table. Selected measures of association.
11. The Paasche index. The Laspeyres index. The Fisher index.
Application of the statistical package and the relevant theoretical tools to analyse the data.

2. An individually prepared comprehensive report on the processing, graphical presentation and statistical description of a selected data set.
The condition of a positive grade from laboratory is a positive grade of the comprehensive report and a positive grade of the test obtained after obtaining at least 50% of the maximum number of points. The course grade is the arithmetic mean of the test grade and the report grade.
