The aim of the course is to introduce the student to the basic issues of nature protection and practical management methods. During the course, the student learns about the subject of nature protection based on the principles of ecology. He can define threats to nature in the macro- and microscale. It defines the motives, concepts and forms of nature protection in the world and in Poland.
Having basic knowledge of ecology at the high school level.
Why do we need to protect nature? Biodiversity. History of nature conservation in Poland. International conventions and directives recognized by Poland. Forms of nature protection in Poland. Examples from the Lubuskie Voivodeship. Plant protection. Animal protection. Protection of biotopes. Nature protection in practice - possibilities of nature protection of the river valley on the example of the middle Odra river. Restoration of ecosystems. Indicator species - bioindicators. Law and nature protection in Poland. Financing nature protection in Poland - projects.
Classes - theoretical introduction and student projects in the form of a multimedia presentation, discussion.

Exercises - the condition for getting credit is to obtain positive grades from all exercises provided for implementation as part of the exercise program. Presentations and projects prepared for a given topic are subject to evaluation. To obtain a satisfactory grade, it is necessary to obtain 60% of positive answers.
