Introduction of the students to the selected methods, models and applications of operations research and decision analysis. Application of presented methods to the analysis
of a real decision problem (in a group project realized by the students)
Knowing of Basic Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics (Graph Theory), Probability Theory.
Lecture/classes
1. General problematics of decision making. Structure of decision processes. Mathematical modelling of decision processes.
2. Selected models of discrete optimization and their application in supporting of managerial decisions.
3. Multicriteria decision analysis. Conditions, possibilities and limitations for applying it. Methods of MCDA and their practical applications.
4. Network methods in project management. Optimization models. PERT method. CPM-COST method. The problem of resource allocation among activities.
5. Decision making under uncertainty and risk. Multi-stage decision processes. Decision trees.
6. Models of game theory and their applications to the analysis of decision situations.
