To familiarize students with elements of the Python language and the data processing environment.
Knowledge of basic concepts in discrete mathematics and probability theory.
Lecture:
IPython environment. Basics of Python: data structures, conditional statements, functions, modules, printing, loading and retrieving data. Anaconda platform.
Discussion of basic packages intended for data processing.
Lab:
JupyterLab support: notebook creation, interactive calculations. Support for NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Pandas packages.
Lecture with multimedia presentation. Laboratory exercises at the computer: solving tasks, presentation of homework solutions, discussion.

The condition for passing the course is to pass both the lecture and the laboratory. The final grade is the average of the grades from both forms of classes. The grade for the lecture is the resultant of grades from homework assignments mainly related to 'pure' Python. The grade for the laboratory depends on your activity and ability to solve the assigned tasks practical.
