Aim of the course

The aim of the course is to learn the possibilities and principles of using multimedia techniques in business, to become acquainted with the possibilities of social networking services and "Web 2.0" and to learn the rules of giving a multimedia presentation.

Prerequisites

Basic computer and Internet skills.

Scope

Lecture:

  1. The essence and origins of multimedia technologies. Inventions that are the foundation for multimedia, the Internet and the popularization of multimedia, the latest multimedia devices and their general applications.
  2. The role of image, sound and animation in multimedia transmission
  3. Web 2.0 tools. Review of social networking sites, Web 2.0.
  4. Mashup websites - applications.
  5. Web 3.0 - the Internet of the future.
  6. Applications of multimedia technologies in economic areas. Multimedia in the enterprise, examples of multimedia applications in business, multimedia in teaching.
  7. Copyright and multimedia content.

Project:

Multimedia presentation on a selected topic related to business and management.

 

Teaching methods

Traditional lecture; Discussion; Group project (5 people in a given group) in the form of a multimedia presentation.

Assignment conditions

Participation in classes is obligatory. The grade for the course consists of the grade for the project (50%) and the grade for the exam (60%). The condition for passing the course is a positive grade for the project and the exam.
