Cel przedmiotu

The aim of the course is to present the theory of Business Intelligence methods and systems.

Wymagania wstępne

Zakres tematyczny

Business intelligence systems – origins and concepts.
Data warehouses. Types of data warehouses, architecture and technical infrastructure.
Life cycle and methods of data analysis in warehouses.
Data mining and OLAP techniques. Overview of data mining tools for BI.
Principles and life cycle of creating a data warehouse. Characteristics of the ETL process and tools.
Selected technological tools for building Business Intelligence systems.
Business Intelligence systems and methods, and big data systems.
Trends in the development of Business Intelligence systems.
The use of BI systems in business. Business models of e-business ventures.
Security and control policy for information systems using large amounts of data.

Metody kształcenia

Traditional lecture. Discussion. Group project (2-3 people in a given group) in the form of a presentation on a selected topic related to the use of BI in business presenting the achieved results.

Warunki zaliczenia

Participation in classes is obligatory. The grade for the course consists of the grade for the project (50%) and the grade for the lecture (50%). The condition for passing the course is a positive grade for the project and lecture.
