Cel przedmiotu

The course aims to familiarize students with IT tools enabling text analysis and the preparation of reports with a specified structure. Laboratory classes will focus on practical exercises using selected programming languages that allow for the application of regular expressions.

Zakres tematyczny

Lecture / Laboratory:
1. Regular expressions.
2. Application of regular expressions in text processing in a selected high-level language.
3. Language models in natural language processing.

Metody kształcenia

Lecture: conversational lecture format.

Laboratory: computer lab exercises – writing and executing self-written programs.

Warunki zaliczenia

Lecture: final test.

Laboratory: to pass, students must obtain at least 50% of the points available in the lab for:

- preparing a presentation on a topic assigned by the instructor;
- written tests by the student;
- class participation.

The final course grade is calculated using the formula (1/3) * grade from the final test + (2/3) * grade from the laboratory. However, a necessary condition for receiving a positive final grade is obtaining positive grades from both the lecture and the laboratory.
