Aim of the course

[1] The sound and specifics of the accompaniment in a jazz band.

[2] Mastering the basic workshop related to working in a music band.

[3] Harmonic structure of jazz standards.

[4] Dynamic range and sonoristic possibilities of individual instruments and their importance for building a coherent sound of a musical group.

[5] Accompanying students pursuing the subject "singing" as an element of vocal tutoring.

[6] Harmony notation based on the American nomenclature.

Prerequisites

Scope

 

[1] Interpretative diversity of jazz themes as a factor determining the nature of the rhythm section accompaniment.

[2] Shaping the sound of a jazz band in the aspect of stylistic differences of the implemented repertoire.

[3] Developing the skill of preparing musical materials for a jazz band.
