Aim of the course

Introduction to ecology, with environmental, economic, sociological, religious, civilizational and energy aspects.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, economy, sociology.

 

Scope

The subject given to students in the form of a lecture remarks the threats brought by contemporary civilization. It focuses mainly on threats of environment, natural resources, biodiversity, but also signals the most important problems with the economic, cultural and human dimensions.
As an exercise, the evaluation of self-gained knowledge is executed; it concerns the understanding of the interrelations among the processes shaping the human-environment relations.
Exercises are conducted as discussion meetings, moderated by the teacher.
