Aim of the course

Classes in environmental renewal techniques are designed to: discuss the subject and techniques of environmental renewal, causes, sources and effects of atmospheric pollution, degradation of water, surface of the earth. Classes analyze methods and techniques of remediation, soil and land reclamation, reservoir recultivation, restoration of watercourses, and disposal of solid waste. He discusses supporting tasks in water protection - biomanipulation, phytotechnology. The student should know the reasons
and sources of pollution of individual environmental elements and be able to propose types of methods allowing the renewal of degraded environments.

Prerequisites

High school level - biology, physics, chemistry, environmental protection.

Scope

Causes of degradation of the basic elements of the environment. Water purification techniques based on the scheme of water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants. Waste management techniques. Renewable energy sources as ways to restore the environment. Ways of lake reclamation. Techniques of renaturalization of watercourses. Land reclamation and management. Biotechnologies used in soil restoration.

Teaching methods

- providing, - practical (field vision of environmental renovation installations)

As part of the course, it is planned to go out into the area for environmental protection installations: sewage treatment plant, waste management plant, water treatment plant, heat and power plant or tire recycling plant.
