To make students familiar with basic sociological ideas and definitions used to describe social life and social processes.
No special prerequisites.
Lectures:
A human as a social being.
Social perspective and social imagination.
Sociology and its’ functions.
Social structure and its’ components.
Social positions, social roles and social status.
Social mobility and different types of societies.
Social institutions and the process of institutionalization.
Classes
Social collectivities. A social group as an example of organized social collectivity.
Social categories and types. The structure of different groups.
Social ties in different groups.
Social interactions and types of interactions.
The process of social control.
The socialization process. Elements of socialization. Types of socialization.
Lectures: Explaining and lecturing. Lecture with discussion. Multimedia learning process.
Classes: Some classes will be a discussion of critical and analytical terms and methods of sociology. Small groups discussion.

The final grade is average of the lecture and classes.

*The subject can be run every semester, in case there is not enough persons to make a group there will be individual class run during instructor hours.
