Aim of the course

Application of investment project evaluation indicators. Financial and economic analysis of projects. Use of an Excel spreadsheet and financial functions. Application of network methods to the management of investment projects.

Prerequisites

Completed course: financial and insurance mathematics and operations research 2.

Scope

Investment project evaluation indicators.
Financial analysis of projects.
Cost-benefit analysis, economic and cost-effectiveness analysis.
Feasibility studies for investment projects.
Network methods in project management: PERT, CPM-COST.

Teaching methods

Lecture: conversational and problematic.

Laboratory exercises with the use of financial functions in Excel.

Assignment conditions

Laboratory: Checking the level of preparation of students and their activity during classes; written colloquium with tasks allowing to assess whether the student has achieved the learning outcomes to a minimum degree.

Lecture - a written test consisting of questions and tasks.

The grade for the subject consists of the laboratory grade (50%) and the lecture grade (50%). The pass mark from the laboratory and the lecture is required to pass the course.
