Cel przedmiotu

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the history of international relations, to show their dynamics and influence on social, political and economic changes occurring in the world. On the background of global transformations, showing the process of Poland's return to the map of Europe.

Zakres tematyczny

1. The era of the Congress of Vienna and the Holy Alliance (1815-1870): the formation and functioning of the Congress of Vienna system;
2. The new European equilibrium after the unification of Italy and Germany;
3. State-making processes in North America. The international role of the USA;
4. Between the World Wars (1918-1939): the birth, functioning, and destruction of the Versailles peace order;
5. From World War II to the onset of the "Cold War" (1939-1949); the process of Poland's return to the map of Europe.
