Cel przedmiotu

The aim of the course is to familiarize the student with the basic concepts describing social life and the processes underlying it. The teacher's intention is to provide with information on the diversity of social life forms, components of the social structure, activities of various social institutions, and spatial and social mobility.

THEMATIC SCOPE

Man - a social being.

Colloquial and scientific knowledge.

Sociological perspective and imagination as the basis for scientific interpretation of social phenomena. Concepts of society.

Functions of sociology.

Social structure and its basic elements.

Social position, role and social status.

Social and spatial mobility and different types of societies.

Social institutions and the institutionalization process.

Diversity of forms of collective human life - characteristics and examples.

A social group as an example of an organized and structured social community.

Typology of small social groups.

Social bond. Types and types of contact. Interactions. Relations and social dependencies.

Social interaction. Interaction as a conceptual category.

Socialization as a conceptual category. Personality and identity as basic elements of socialization.

Social control and its mechanisms.

Metody kształcenia

Work with a book and source material, teamwork, a discussion of the presented problems. Carrying out some of the classes using mobile methods: a research walk or a study visit.
