The aim of the course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge of the impact of the state's economic policy on the functioning of a given society. The key goal is for students to acquire the ability to interpret data related to the conducted fiscal and monetary policy and a flexible approach to the changing macroeconomic environment and use this knowledge to make strategic decisions (e.g. Poland's entry into the euro zone) in order to maintain economic security.

Introduction to the subject, familiarization with the program of lectures, the structure of classes and the form of crediting, familiarization with the available literature related to the discussed issues, a general outline of the subject matter. Economic policy and its subjects. External and internal conditions. Objectives and tools of economic policy. Functions of economic policy in various economic systems. Conducting economic policy ensuring economic security. Concepts related to economic growth, prosperity and development. Conducting economic policy in the conditions of integration and globalization processes. Challenges for economic policy resulting from the fourth industrial revolution (demography and robotization and artificial intelligence). Labor market policy, new professions, guaranteed income. Budget policy (income and expenditure). Budget deficit, public debt. The essence of farming. Public sector in the economy, public goods, public aid - sectoral, horizontal, regional. social policy. Pension system. insurance system. Anti-inflation policy. Real and nominal values. Monetary policy, central bank. Banking Indemnity Fund. Conducting economic policy in conditions of meeting the Maastricht convergence criteria. Conducting economic policy in conditions of the necessity of Poland's entry into the Economic and Monetary Union: benefits and costs of a given country's entry into the euro zone.
