Cel przedmiotu

The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge of the functioning of the public sector, its structure and functions, as well as the conditions of functioning of public and social sector organizations. Moreover, the aim of the course is to encourage students to deepen their knowledge, in particular based on the observation of current events in the public sector and in non-profit organizations. In addition, the aim of the course is to educate students in the ability to use the acquired knowledge in a practical way.

The role of the state in the economy. Structure of the public sector - subjective and territorial arrangement. Economic and social conditions of functioning of public sector organizations in Poland. Functions of the public sector in the light of sustainable development and the concept of competitiveness of the organization. Consequences of the systemic transformation for the functioning of the public sector in Poland (systemic conditions, influence of the environment). The impact of globalization on the functioning of the public sector. Public service perspective. Public choice theory. Public production. Bureaucracy. Efficiency and unreliability of the market. Taxes and efficiency. External effects. E-government
