History of Polish Cinematography - opis przedmiotu

Cel przedmiotu

The course elaborates on the history of the Polish cinematography from its beginnings in 19th century to the present day. Its main purpose is to underline the role of the cinema in historical education. Special emphasis is placed on analysis of the films which reliably present histories of given states and societies. The analysis includes both popular and niche historical films as well as art house.

Your grade for class participation will be based on the following:

Attendance

You are required to attend all of our lectures. You may be absent two times without a formal excuse. The other absence you have to cover during individual meetings with me.

Reading

You are required to complete all reading assignments in time for the meeting.
