Cel przedmiotu

The aim of the course is to familiarise students with international security issues as understood in the Western world.

Wymagania wstępne

Have basic knowledge of post-1945 and post-1989 international security relations.

Zakres tematyczny

Area of interest, scope and determinants of security policy within the European security system; theoretical foundations of state security policy; doctrinal and institutional elements of state and non-state actors in international relations; global security policy problems; assumptions of Polish security policy; collective security systems, security communities and alliances; security policy of selected NATO and EU states.

Metody kształcenia

Exercises involving teamwork, analysis of source texts and delivery of papers.
