Cel przedmiotu

The course's aim is to familiarise students with various aspects of modern Great Britain and their historical roots (where applicable).

Wymagania wstępne

Good command of English, interest in things British, general erudition.

Zakres tematyczny

Great Britain: geography, topography, counties and their pronunciation. The four component parts: their plant and animal symbols, major cities, patron saints, customs, and traditions. Neolithic megalithic structures and their functions. British icons, hobbies, and landmarks. Characteristic landscapes. Railways and waterways. Music, sports, arts, politics.
