The course will raise your awareness of the relationship between L2 teacher theoretical knowledge and his or her teaching practice. You will be acquainted with the most influential theories of language acquisition and their pedagogical implications.

You will discuss the theories of language learning and teaching (e.g., behaviorism, innatism, interactionism, interlanguage theory) in connection with your own preferences and expectations as a language learner and a potential language teacher. Your attention will be drawn to how these theories relate to L2 learner errors and particular individual learner differences. This will be the starting point for talking about your views on errors and error correction.
