Zasadniczym celem przedmiotu jest, wzbogacone o kontekst historyczny, wprowadzenie do filozofii nauki P.K. Feyerabenda i T.S. Kuhna. Inne cele to: (a) wprowadzenie do podstawowych zagadnień filozofii nauki; (b) przygotowanie studenta do samodzielnych analiz tekstów poświęconych problematyce metodologicznej.

3.b. Podstawowe kategorie filozofii Kuhna: paradygmat, wspólnota uczonych, rewolucja naukowa, niewspołmierność interteoretyczna
4. Filozofia nauki P.K. Feyerabenda
4.a. Ewolucja poglądów Feyerabenda
4.b. Podstawowe kategorie filozofii Feyerabenda: rewolucja naukowa, niewspółmierność interteoretyczna, racjonalność, rozum, "wszystko może się przydać", wolne społeczeństwo
W zależności od potrzeb stosowane będą przede wszystkim trzy formy wykładu: informacyjny konwersatoryjny i syntetyczny. Ten pierwszy zapoznawał będzie słuchaczy z odpowiednimi partiami materiału. Ten drugi aktywizował będzie słuchaczy w toku wykładu, słuchacze zachęcani będą do krótkiej dyskusji i zadawania pytań, zwłaszcza w sytuacjach, gdy jakieś partie omawianego materiału wydawać się im będą niezrozumiałe. Ten trzeci podsumowywał będzie omówiony materiał i ułatwiał zapamiętywanie najważniejszych kwestii omawianych w trakcie wykładu.
