Aim of the course

Becoming familiar with all the aspects of accompaniment in an ensemble on a music work, from choosing the repertoire through the work on its preparation to the public presentation of the work. 

Prerequisites

Basic skills as an instrumentalist enabling the student to play the selected arrangements. 

Scope

[1] Choosing a repertoire appropriate to the number of musicians, the instruments and the performance abilities of the musicians. [2] Familiarize students with the role of instruments in a jazz band. [3] Basic tasks of the rhythm section. [4] Interpretation a melody in a jazz piece. [5] Different types of accompaniment in the context of different music forms and styles. [6] Technical aspects of the public performance.
