In this course students will learn basics of psychology.
This introductory course has no specific prerequisites.
The course covers the most important topics in modern psychology such as cognitive psychology (attention, consciousness, methods of brain research and brain functions), motivation and emotions, memory and learning, personality, individual differences (intelligence and temperament), child and adult development, social psychology and psychopathology.
The course is divided into two parts. The first part contains lectures provided online (all necessary materials will be accessible on the internet – students can benefit from MIT Open Courseware materials (videos, readings, exercises) as well as the university platform where a contact with the lecturer is possible). The second part are classes devoted to consolidation of the knowledge and its practical applications from all learnt approaches in psychology.

Lectures are finished with the final exam, containing questions in a test form. During the online lectures additional points can be made by special exercises and quizzes.
Classes require completing a few projects during the lesson and preparing a critical essay of chosen current psychological scientific literature.
