Aim of the course

Zdobycie podstawowej wiedzy o procesie literackim omawianej epoki – nurtach literackich oraz twórczości wiodących autorów.

Scope

Ciągłości i przemiany literatury amerykańskiej od purytanizmu do romantyzmu. Cechy literatury kolonialnej. Oświecenie amerykańskie. Różnorodność romantyzmu amerykańskiego na przykładzie dwóch odrębnych kierunków: transcendentalizmu i ciemnego romantyzmu.

Teaching methods

Wykład konwersatoryjny, praca z tekstem, dyskusja, praca w grupach.

Assignment conditions

Zaliczenie ćwiczeń (tym samym dopuszczenie do egzaminu) na podstawie pozytywnie ocenionej prezentacji, a także aktywnego uczestniczenia w zajęciach i wykazania się  umiejętnością  interpretacji utworów omawianych na zajęciach.
