Aim of the course

The aim of the study is to familiarize the student with anatomical and pathological characteristic of body posture, etiology and pathophysiology of the  postural defects. Student known methods and systematic of therapeutics exercises using in corrective gymnastic and learn how to plan and implement corrective and compensatory exercise program.

Anatomy, methodology of physical education

Scope

Lecture

Anatomical, biomechanical and neurophysiological characteristic of body posture. Anatomy of the spine, etiology of faulty posture: scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis, feet defects. Posture diagnosis. Methods and therapeutics exercises using in corrective gymnastic.  Planning and implementing corrective and compensatory exercise program in school. Prophylactic of postural defects and back pain.

Laboratory

Practical using of the methods, techniques and therapeutics exercises in case of: scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis, feet defects (breathing exercises, relaxing therapy, proprioceptive and balance exercises, stretching and strenghthening exercises, elements of yoga, pilates, “healthy back school”). Posture diagnosis: orthopedic examination, functional tests.

Teaching methods

Lecture with a multimedia presentation, measurement, the individual project, the group project.

Assignment conditions

Active participation in lectures and workshops.

Workshops – written test, expressing suggestions and own opinion, individual project involving practical tack – therapeutic exercise and methods using in corrective gymnastics.
